What To Do If You Have A Claim

Our goal is to help you get back on track with your life as quickly and easily as possible. Please remember that if we don't know about a covered loss we cannot take action, so please notify us as soon as reasonably possible. We hope these recommendations are useful.

• Read - Read your policy when you get it from your agent, not after you have experienced a loss. Encourage your agent to explain each section of your policy and make sure that the policy is applicable to the risk that both you and your agent intended to insure.
• Protect Your Property - Take whatever reasonable steps are necessary to prevent further damage. Keep receipts of and cost incurred while doing so. For example, if a windstorm rips open a part of your roof, putting up a temporary cover would be a reasonable means of mitigating further damage.
• Notify - Notify your agent as soon as possible that your property has sustained a loss. Provide as much information as possible, including contact names and phone numbers. Contact the police if the loss is due to and violation of the law, such as vandalism.
• Itemize - Once the property is secure, itemize the damaged items and begin to locate supporting paperwork that helps establish your claim.
